I was able to get past the second boss on +1 difficulty, but it was a struggle. I've beaten the game with scout, gotten to the last boss with rifleman on my very first run, and am on my way to finishing with assault on +1 difficulty as we speak - but Pistolier was a NIGHTMARE. Low ammo, low damage, floaty pistols requiring two hands for one gun, etc. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT just you - I have the exact same issues that you do. Is the wand the only backup or is there some kind of melee functionality that I am actually missing here? Are you supposed to just stand in front of your enemies and die in order to get a second chance at running the map if you run out? That brings the momentum of a run to a halt and isn't particularly fun. Obviously for gameplay purposes you can't run up and start pistol-whipping an enemy - it'd be extremely cheap (albeit funny) to do so with the mandatory teleport movement option being a thing. Something I've noticed is that there's no alternative to ranged combat if you do happen to run out of ammo, especially with a new class you haven't unlocked the wand on yet. To be fair, Pistoleer seems to be the only class I've had this issue with - Maybe it's just because the first two classes had me learn to play in one particular style when the class is asking for an entirely different playstyle, but it felt clunky to go from playing with guns that naturally worked to running a comparatively inaccurate and ammo-hungry set of weapons that feel like they rely more on a cheap set of strong tarot cards moreso than, y'know, pointing them at a guy and firing. The damage output on the guns seems too low to effectively fight groups and it's frustrating to engage a group, do nothing to them, dodge around the map scavenging ammo and waste all of that time and resource-gathering to maybe only kill one or two guys in the process. When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made! All the world wonder’d.Just started doing Pistoleer runs and they're definitely a challenge in comparison to the rifle and SMG! The ammo-to-damage ratio makes both pistols feel like Nerf guns, and I feel like not two-handing a pistol applies the same accuracy penalty as any of the other guns, automatically leaving me with half of the guns the class is given by default as I'm running around two-handing a single pistol to be slightly effective.ĭespite using either one or two pistols, I'm often finding myself running out of ammo entirely while fighting 4-5 enemies at once. Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon behind them Volley’d and thunder’d Storm’d at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell, They that had fought so well Came thro’ the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of Hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred. Flash’d all their sabres bare, Flash’d as they turn’d in air Sabring the gunners there, Charging an army, while All the world wonder’d: Plunged in the battery-smoke Right thro’ the line they broke Cossack and Russian Reel’d from the sabre-stroke Shatter’d and sunder’d. Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley’d and thunder’d Storm’d at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred. "Forward, the Light Brigade!" Was there a man dismay’d? Not tho’ the soldier knew Some one had blunder’d: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. "Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns!" he said: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.
